AFPE relies on annual tax-deductible contributions from corporations, associations, foundations, and individuals to sustain its annual program of undergraduate research scholarships, pre-doctoral fellowships, post-Pharm. D. Fellowships, and pharmacy faculty research grants. Contributions take three forms: corporate grants, individual contributions, and endowment gifts.
Annual tax-exempt corporate grants are made by leading pharmaceutical research and manufacturing companies, pharmaceutical or pharmacy associations and foundations, nonprescription drug manufacturers, wholesale drug companies, drug store chains, biotechnology firms, and contract research organizations. Our corporate contributors recognize the education and training received in a college of pharmacy graduate program uniquely prepares a pharmaceutical scientist who excels in the development and delivery of pharmaceutical products and can rapidly apply skills to achieve company objectives. Annual tax-deductible individual contributions provide up to 20% of AFPE's annual education program budget. Friends and former Fellows and Scholars who appreciate the important mission and work of AFPE "give back" to pharmaceutical education and the pharmaceutical sciences through an annual challenge grant or contribution to the AFPE 21st Century Club. Major corporations, biomedical foundations, and individuals are making tax-exempt and tax-deductible endowment gifts to help AFPE establish a portfolio of permanently endowed fellowships and grants honoring our nation's current pharmaceutical leadership. These AFPE Endowment Campaign gifts help secure for AFPE the permanent financial base needed to guarantee the award of a minimum number of pre-doctoral fellowships and pharmacy faculty new investigator grants each year and help reduce the impact of unpredictable year-to-year funding of scholarships, fellowships, and grants. If you are interested in learning more about these contribution opportunities, please contact AFPE President Robert M. Bachman at (301) 738-2160 or e-mail him at robert.bachman@afpenet.org or info@afpenet.org. |
